Veolia Environmental Services treats and recovers waste to reincorporate materials into industry as secondary raw materials for subsequent manufacturing. Hence turning waste into a resource.
Material Recovery Facility (MRF)
Veolia provides recyclables collection infrastructure, collects the co-mingle recyclables from both residential and commercial sectors and deliver them to the Material Recovery Facility.
The Material Recovery Facility is a 10,000 sq ft site located at 17 Tuas Ave 12. It comprises of a semi automated sorting line, an industrial shredder, a fully automated heavy duty baler as well as 2 warehouses for recovered materials.
The facility is equipped with sorting capacity of up to 15,000 tons and paper baling capacity of up to 100,000 tons a year. The main recovered materials are:
• Papers and Cardboards
• All types of plastics such as PET, HDPE, LDPE and etc
• Ferrous and non ferrous metals
• Drink cartons
The recovered materials are then baled and shipped to its respective reprocessors such as paper mills, metal and glass smelters, to be reused as secondary raw material.
